When you have a limiting thought, it moves into your body. Anxiety starts in your mind from conscious and subconscious thought, and moves into your body. When you feel fear, it started in your mind, affected your physiology (body) and created a thought. You must liberate your body of it's redundant and unhealthy habits created from your past experiences by going into the unknown (your unconscious thoughts) and creating new purposeful thoughts.
Your brain is an anticipation machine.
Your physiology doesn't want to experience the unknown (a change) because it's use to the familiar. It would rather experience unhealthy experiences than experience the healthy uncomfortable unknowns.
The purpose of mediation is to get past your analytical mind in order to access unlimited freedom.

When you're living by the hormones of stress, you're heart is closed. It doesn't want to be vulnerable. It's in survival mode.
