Literacy and Housing Fundraiser for FOSTERING HEARTS AND HOMES FOUNDATION 501(c)(3)
Today Fostering Hearts and Homes Foundation is a 501(c)(3), yet it started out as an unexpected vision in 2012 for Dr. Capri Cruz, a former foster child herself. A few years prior to starting her PhD program, Dr. Cruz completed
the manuscript for her book, From Foster Care to FABULOUS: An Imperative Movement, and created what
was then known as The Personal Growth Literacy Program for Foster Children.
Today, that literacy program is the flagship of Fostering Hearts and Homes Foundation. Dr. Cruz understands better than most that personal growth and development education is the catalyst to understanding oneself,
especially when you've been forced to grow up in foster care.

The goal of Fostering Hearts and Homes Foundation is to educate and empower our nation's foster children, and the often forgotten alumni who endure life long struggles due to a lack of healthy family support, love, knowledge,
mentorship, and stability. To help eradicate these risk factors, Dr. Cruz provides for them the exact
personal growth and development guidance and information that catapulted her from a young
and abandoned child into who she is today. Because Dr. Cruz learned to follow her calling
in life, she is now a 2x author, an award winning advocate and speaker for foster
children, an international mental health therapist,
life strategist, and a proud philanthropist.

Fostering Hearts and Homes Foundation provides foster children the necessary literacy material to advance their
knowledge and expand their awareness of what is possible for them despite their tragic personal
circumstances, and provides the desperately needed housing, mental health services, and
vocational coordination to homeless foster care alumni so they can have the stability
and support in life they need to become healthy, independent, and productive
citizens. With your contributions we CAN teach them how to improve their lives!
Thank you!!
